I had fun the past weeks.

It didn't occur to me that I was starting to have fun until i suddenly found myself in a faraway land called Thai-land. Of course, it was a land for the Thais, the land of smiles, and.. the land of shopping! Muaha. So here begins the journey of 3 brave girls who decided to roam into this land all by themselves, sans protective moms and dads and boyfriends (oops, only 1 is attached bytheway).

The plane touched down at around 10pm, Bangkok time. We took a cab from Suvarnabhumi Airport to a supposedly new service apartment a.k.a our hotel. After about 20 minutes, the cab driver suddenly steered left into a dark, narrow street. Empty vehicles surrounded us and stray black dogs (it was at night) roamed about, some sleeping on the cemented ground. 75 metres of dark street later, emerged an even smaller street, but brighter. We see street lights, we see little bicycles and motorbikes, mothers carrying their children walking about, elder men tending their roadstalls, shop signs flickering brightly on both sides of the street. This is 11 Soi Wattanawong at night.

Now, Tango is the name of the service apartment a.k.a our hotel we had booked online. And Tango is right at the end of this small street. When we saw the 5 letters mounted on a lighted orange wall, and a couple of people walking into the place, it was a BIG relief.

"(keeping a lookout) Tango, Tango, c'mon Tango...... TANGO!! THERE!! TANGOO OH YESS Finally.. (Cab turned right into entrance and saw 2 people walking in).. got people!!! Wahaha.. WE ARE SAFE!! Got people living in this place too!! Woohoooooo~~ (starts dancing in the cab like Kim Sam Soon)"

And that's the end.. of Day 1.

We are happy to have booked such a Fabulous place!

Fabulous yellow wall.

Fabulous Tango.

 Breakfasts were Fabulous.

As we had fabulously planned (i know, show off! tsk tsk), we are in the Pratunam area where the shopping districts are. So on Day 2 while there is still an abundant of energy in us, we decided to take a walk.

From Tango to Pratunam market to..

"Eh.. what is that.."

"!! What is a baby elephant doing in the street??!"
Ahh.. the poor thing.. I really wish I could save you little dear, but I am really sorry I'm not Ong-Bak.. sheesh. No more shopping mood.

A good friend NicholasAPB recommended a place called Fuji, saying that the food there is relatively cheap and nice. He told me there is an outlet at World Trade Centre, but I didn't expect there to be an outlet at Platinum Fashion Mall where we were shopping too. Wahaa, exciting! (Dance around like Kim Sam Soon)

I wish i could tag on this picture.

The Green Tea was so nice, it followed us back to hotel. But its not so nice anymore when I drank it the second and third time. Why like that. I thought i had found the best Green Tea in the world..

Speaking of world..

WELCOME TO DREAMWORLD!
Once we were inside,

we realised how strong Lor is..

so we appointed her the Superman of the Day.

Char wasn't too bad either.. Gosh, now i'm scared of them.

Seeing that i'm the weakest one now, they joined forces to bully me!

"Why did you want to buy that embarrassing TOURIST HAT for 120 Baht?!
Now everyone is looking at us as if we are not Thais!"

"Please forgive me..!! It happens to be a sunny day
and it happens to be a big hat, that's all.."

Then we saw a middle-aged man taking his bath in the public.
Tsk tsk. He and his red underwear.

I like the big tourist hat. :)

The hat nearly flew off.

It's time for something more exciting!

.. How come they don't look scared lei.
I used to cry riding the Viking..
But now i'm not scared anymore ^^
Because i've learned that when you are scared..
All you have to do to overcome it,

is to SCREAM! :0 :0

I FEEL LIKE HERCULES TAKING THE CAMERA OUT WHILE THE SHIP IS SWAYING!

Hello Si Hui. :)

I'm here to save you!

Doraemon: 3 throws still haven't hit a block! How are you going to save me??
"I'm sorry Ding Dang.." :(

BYE DREAMWORLD!
(I think I'm starting to mature, theme parks don't excite me as much as it would 3 years ago..)

It's time to meet Sawanee. When you are in a foreign land, it's wonderful to find a familiar face and feeling assured that you are safe, even if.. you are safe. Erm, its like a double confirmation. You'll know it when you feel it. :) When I met her at Tango's lobby, i felt like.. TGYH! (Thank God You're Here!)

But it's not that we are in danger or something that i felt TGYH, but its just feeling very much relieved and happy. *grins*

She brought us to Chinatown to choose between Red Seafood and Green Seafood.
What's the difference?

When you go to the Red Seafood they will serve you Red Crabs, like the one above..
If you go to the Green Seafood they will serve you Green Crabs...

Anyway! The seafood was great, the sauces were nice (I tried chilli), and the price was right.

"the price was right." a.k.a "CHEAP!"

There's no way you'll find their seafood price in Singapore. Must come back next time!

Then we went to famous Khao San Road. There would probably be an awesome place to go if i happen to go on a backpacking trip in the future. Char, Lor and I were rather quiet when we were there cause we'd never really been to a place like there before. It's like another world,

Like, if I happen to step on planet Mars tomorrow, its more likely I'll be "Oh.. so this is Mars.. wow.." than "OooH! Check it out I'm on MARS!" Like that. *grins*

I cannot resist roadside stalls. They're the best, like in Jakarta.

Bugs, crickets, mealworms.. anyone?

Come to think of it, there was this cute (according to Sawanee) white guy a.k.a ang moh who bought a fried baby scorpion in front of our eyes. It was placed in a transparent plastic and given to him. Then he stood there with the plastic in his hands and looked at us for awhile with a weird expression.

Goodness knows if his expression was because he felt ugh-ed holding the fried scorpion or he was feeling rather manly having just bought an actual fried scorpion presumably to eat in front of girls. But he just stood there like that twisting the openings of the plastic and then... walked away.

Maybe he was trying to ask for Sawanee's number, but too shy. :)

19 March 2009 was a great SHOPPING DAY!

Have to wear comfortably, bring a big empty bag, fat wallet..
We went to Siam Square. DCMD was there too.. last year.

No pictures, too busy shopping..

Suan Lum Night Bazaar!

I thought i could get another canvas tote bag like my bee tote bag from the same shop. But i can't find it. :( But i got 3 other canvas tote bags from 2 other shops! :) (Dance around like Kim Sam Soon)

These miniatures are amazingly beautiful! Not that its a rare sight, but i can't stop wah-wah-ing over them. Beautiful cakes and handicraft..

I'm getting tired of blogging these!
Its such a long way down already, i'm definitely not a blogger.
Gosh.

Can't count how many tuk tuk rides we had over the 6 days.

AHA!
Now to reveal the main purpose of this whole trip..
(other than planning it for Lor before her FT nursing starts)
